Raksasa tersebut muncul di akhir musim dingin untuk memakan hasil panen, ternak, sampai penduduk desa. Demi melindungi diri, penduduk pun menaruh makanan di depan pintu rumah pada awal tahun agar raksasa memakan apa yang telah mereka sediakan, bukan ternak dan hasil panen.<\/p>\n<p>Kemudian, suatu hari penduduk melihat raksasa lari ketakutan setelah bertemu seseorang yang memakai pakaian bewarna merah. Sejak saat itu raksasa tidak pernah kembali. Penduduk pun percaya bahwa raksasa takut dengan warna merah, karenanya setiap tahun baru mereka memasang lentera dan gulungan kertas merah di jendela dan pintu.
